Milton Jones introduces brand new comedy show HA!MILTON

Is HA!Milton a musical?

This is not a musical. Milton Jones is tone-deaf and has no sense of rhythm, but at least he doesn’t make a song and dance about it.

He has more important things to discuss. Like giraffes…and there’s a bit about tomatoes

It's a whole new show of daftness.

Who is Milton Jones?

You might know him from Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo or Radio 4. Or that time he stood for the Scottish National Party, fought a hard campaign, but in the end had to respect the wishes of the people of Cardiff.

FAQS

Born in 1964 as Milton Hywel Jones, he’s been a comedian since the ’90s. Although he won the prestigious Perrier Best Newcomer Award at the 1996 Edinburgh Festival Fringe for his first solo show, it wasn’t until 2008 when he joined the panel TV series Mock The Week that his career really skyrocketed.

Among his biggest UK tours were 2013’s On the Road, 2015’s Milton Jones And The Temple of Daft , and 2017’s Milton Jones Is Out There. All his shows have been characterised by twists of surreal logic and clever one-liners, and as a Christian, he intentionally avoids using profanity in his routines.

Following its 2019 Edinburgh Festival Fringe premiere, Jones was out on the road in early 2020 with his hilarious Milton: Impossible show, in which he reveals the truth about being a former secret agent (before getting the disappointing new identity that forced him to appear on Mock The Week).

In addition to television appearances on comedy shows like Live At The Apollo, Lee Mack’s All Star Cast, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and Dave’s One Night Stand, Jones starred in the 2012 Channel 4 sitcom The House Of Rooms, centred around a man and his mother who live together and rent out rooms.

Jones has also been a familiar voice across the radio waves. Among several BBC Radio 4 series, his third – Another Case Of Milton Jones – won him a silver Sony Award in 2011 and saw him nominated for a Writers Guild Award in 2012.

A man of many talents, Jones has penned the books Ten Second Sermons, Even More Concise 10 Second Sermons and Where Do Comedians Go When They Die?

  • Excellent. Original.

by Delnor on 05/12/2024Sheffield City Hall Oval Hall - SheffieldRating: 5 out of 5

I was in hysterics and so was everyone around me. Intelligent, surreal, completely left field and true at the same time.

  • Clever guy Milton

by Jigsaw on 25/11/2024Kendal Leisure Centre - CumbriaRating: 4 out of 5

Milton was fine, I felt his previous show was better though. The venue I wasn't enamoured with. Hard, uncomfortable seats aren't enjoyable to park your backside on for two hours. Parking was at least very handy being at the venue itself and was also free so thumbs up for that at least.

  • Excellent show

by Rob on 24/11/2024O2 City Hall Newcastle - Newcastle Upon TyneRating: 5 out of 5

Milton Jones is a master of one liners and he manages to narrate a story using a series of them without any hesitation. He also handles hecklers and people getting up to go to the bar with great ease, in fact weaves these in to the act. Milton also makes his show topical and clearly tries very hard to get in some local jokes. A must see. Don't turn up late otherwise you will miss Tom Houghton, he was a great warm up act, a future comedy legend in the making.

  • Absolutely brilliant, had tears in my eyes with laughter.

Show was great, warm up act funny too. Best show I have seen for a long time.

  • Unforgettable!

by Lou on 23/11/2024Palace Newark - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

This is the 3rd time we've seen Milton - all on different tours and he never fails to have us both in hysterics! Quite bizarre in places but pure brilliance. A comedy genius.

  • Poor tickets

by JW on 22/11/2024The Fire Station - SunderlandRating: 4 out of 5

Yes I really enjoyed the show but my problem was actually getting my tickets to show up on my phone lucky the staff looked at my booking and showed me to my seats

  • The king of the one liner tells the story of his life

by Jarrawocky on 16/11/2024Norwich Epic Studios - NorwichRating: 5 out of 5

Those familiar with his TV work in shows like the much missed Mock The Week, will already know that MJ is the master of clever wordplay and one line delivery. What you may not be aware, however, is his narrative style of comedy using props and interconnected stories. Ha! Milton, the 'cease and desist' musical is a tour deforce from a very funny man. Warm up was great too!

  • Sublime wordplay

by Ferg on 10/11/2024Aberdeen Music Hall - AberdeenRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent support act flummoxed by audience over butteries. Milton Jones was brilliant!0

  • An hilarious evening with Milton

by Jim the biker on 09/11/2024Aberdeen Music Hall - AberdeenRating: 5 out of 5

A fabulous evening of comedy. Milton's support act Tom Houghton was brilliant. His handling of the "butterie/rowie" discussion was pure class and could have left a lesser comedian stranded at the mercy of the audience but he turned a potential disaster into comedy gold. Milton was at his very best and his ability to play with words and phrases had the audience in rioitous laughter. Without doubt one of the funniest men on the comedy circuit.

  • Great show.

by SandraC on 09/11/2024Aberdeen Music Hall - AberdeenRating: 5 out of 5

We had a great time at Milton Jones in the music hall in Aberdeen. Would have been better in Inverness but he was worth the journey and stay. Makes it expensive having to stay and eat out. The show was great and my cheeks were sore from laughing so much. His support act was good as Well.

  • Best comedy gig I've been too!

by Andy on 09/11/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

It was a great routine, really wanting to show my family one of his shows and I'd happy go again!

  • Brilliantly funny

Great comedian, very entertaining, highly recommend

  • Must watch!

by Keithyboy on 01/11/2024Cambridge Corn Exchange - CambridgeRating: 5 out of 5

Milton Jones is so funny! Have seen him before but makes me laugh every time I see him. With his deadpan face and hair he makes me laugh just to think about him! He had the whole audience in stitches all of the time and the time he was on stage passed all too quickly!!

  • Continuous Hilarity

by David on 26/10/2024Ashcroft Theatre - CroydonRating: 5 out of 5

Milton Jones did not disappoint. The one-liners were delivered in a continuous, fluid, way that didn't seem forced or stilted. The time just flew and there was never a joke that I thought was particularly weak.

  • Brilliant as ever.

by Pen on 21/10/2024Everyman Theatre - CheltenhamRating: 5 out of 5

True talent to keep an audience laughing continuously for the entire show without having to resort to the risqué or be smutty. A very rare gift these days. On par with the late Ken Dodd.

  • Brilliant night

by Ian H on 20/10/2024Warwick Arts Centre - CoventryRating: 5 out of 5

Fabulous night, so funny, we had a lovely night Milton was brilliant and the Warwick Art Centre is a great venue.

  • Fantastic night of silly fun

by Ahoy on 18/10/2024Central Hall, Southampton - SouthamptonRating: 5 out of 5

A slightly delayed start caused by technical issues was quickly forgotten when the night got going. The warm up, Tom Haughton, was delightful and did an incredible job making fun at and with the weird and wonderful citizens of Southampton! Looking forward to seeing him on his own tour soon. Milton Jones was a joy. Hilarious, silly fun that was perfect escapism from the desperate world we live in. So clever and engaging and just bloomin' funny. I don't think anyone left without a smile and a bit of an extra bounce.

  • Superb!

by Gaylee on 14/10/2024New Theatre Cardiff - CardiffRating: 5 out of 5
