Bristol-born singer-songwriter Lauren Aquilina headlines Brighton Komedia, Bristol Louisiana and Night And Day Manchester from 27 Oct – 1 Nov.

Aquilina found musical talent at a young age, and began uploading covers to YouTube at the age of 13, which were well-received and garnered her a following. At 17 she released her debut EP Fools, which she began to tour up and down the country and even earnt her radio play from the likes of Gary Barlow. After a couple more EPs, Aquilina signed to Island records to release her debut studio album, Isn't It Strange, featuring hits such as 'Kicks', 'How Would You Like It' and 'Wicked Game'.

Disillusioned by the music industry, the songwriter announced in 2016 that she would be taking a break. She returned two years later with the single 'Psycho'. This would feature on her 2020 EP Ghost World, which also featured 'Tobacco In My Sheets' and 'Swap Places.' The EP took Aquilina on a sell-out headline tour as well as a support slot with one of her favourite acts, MUNA (who in 2021 remixed her single 'Empathy'). The artist has also worked with the likes of Rina Sawayama, Ava Max, Demi Lovato and Little Mix.

Aquilina's sound has developed from the piano-based ballads of her beginnings to match the changing tastes of her musical interests, including acoustic folk-pop and swelling synth sounds; though as single 'Hanging From Your Halo' proves, her ear for a soaring, cathartic chorus has remained intact.
