About

Intriguing London-based rapper letting his music do talking

Laicositna is a promising up-and-coming musician celebrated for his heartfelt lyricism and mellow beats as he puts his own spin on the contemporary rap genre.

Emerging in March 2024 with his acclaimed debut album Deal With It, North West London born Laicositna quickly garnered attention for his masterful blend of melodic UK rap laced with soulful lyrics. Placing languid beats and hard-tuned vocals at the fore, tracks such as fan-favourites ‘Take Me Serious’, ‘Feel The Same’ and ‘Respectfully’ found resonance with listeners for their recurring themes of vulnerability and relationship struggles. As a result, Laicositna’s formative album has accrued millions of streams to date, indicating a strong appetite for his intricate narratives and silky smooth production.

Whilst Laicositna maintains a mysterious character to his rapidly growing international fanbase, his songs reveal a deeper reading. Speaking on the album, Laicositna explains, “Deal With It is a small insight of my life; having to deal with problems and move forward. From losing money gambling and having bad relationships, I’m opening up and being vulnerable. I think it’s time I let my supporters know me more on a personal level.”

Opening up other musical opportunities, Laicositna soon went on to collaborate with buzzy East-London rapper Arz on a track titled ‘Lickback’, further solidifying his place as one of the most promising and in demand new voices in UK music. With its nostalgic production and fingerpicked guitar, the song explores the toxic tendencies surrounding Gen Z’s approach to dating, infidelity and revenge, as well as the negative role that social media can play. "On this track, me and bro touch on revenge. Everyone’s got this mindset of: if I get done dirty I’m going to do it back. So we approached the song like we had just completed our lickback,” Arz commented.

Laicositna’s follow-up single ‘Excuse Me Please’ was subsequently released in November this year, accompanied by an atmospheric music video depicting the rapper pacing around arid landscapes and illuminated pools at dusk. The track weaves Laicositna’s quietly confident vocals with a polished backdrop of lively percussion, piano melodies and sleek synth layers.

Seeing out the year with shows in Birmingham and Manchester, Laicositna will no doubt build on the buzz with even bigger things on the horizon for 2025.
