After a hectic January and February, Cult returns to Factory for more excitement, this time from boy-wonder Koreless, who'll be performing a Live show for us. Joining him on the night will up-and-coming Dublin producer Orquestra, and Cult resident Eoin.
Glasgow-based Koreless is part of the new generation of young producers rising fast through the net-fed bass community. Despite his tender age of 21, Koreless' music exudes maturity, nesting in the ever-expanding dubstep lexicon somewhere between softened 2-step and soulful electronica. He's had three (If we're not mistaken) Boiler Room sets and has released 2 EPs: 4D (2011) and Lost in Tokyo (2012).
Having had releases on Vase and Pictures music and collaborated with the likes of Ghostpoet, Jacques Greene and Jamie XX, Koreless' most recent release has seen him team up with Sampha (SBTRKT) as Short Stories. They've released a smoking hot 12' called Let it Go on Young Turks. It sold out on Vinyl in three days but is available digitally from Young Turks.
With this impressive back-catalogue of work for someone of such a young age, Koreless' live show is not to be missed.
Orlando Peter FitzGerald, better known by his stage name Orquesta (or Lan Orquesta), is a Dublin-based DJ, producer, multi-instrumentalist and live performer. He is also the founder and manager of the independent record label Meles Meles. Having been producing under the guise of Orquestra since 2011, Orlando has released two EP's: Dona Sandra (May 2011) and The Kokomo EP (July 2012).
The summer of 2012 saw Orquesta make festival appearances at Body and Soul and Electric Picnic, where his eclectic DJ sets captivated crowds and won him additional slots supporting acts such as Brenmar and Hypnotic Brass Ensemble- And now Koreless, here in Galway. Keep an eye on XLR8R.com for several upcoming releases from Orquestra.
Cult DJ, Factory-hanger-arounder and general try too hard Eoin Ryan will be playing a set before Koreless and Orquestra. Having done the rounds with Mmoths, Aeroplane, Clu, Ryan Vail, Prosumer (Kind of) and XXXY he might play an alright set, so get down early if you'd like to see him.
