About

The biggest-selling Cuban group in music history comes to the UK in 2025

Jesús ‘Aguaje’ Ramos (born 1951) is a Cuban trombonist, composer, arranger and musical director best known for performing on record and live with members of Buena Vista Social Club. He has also served long stints in world-class ensembles Estrellas de Areito and Afro-Cuban Allstars.

Ramos was Rubén Gonzalez’ musical director and has been touring extensively since 1997 with various projects. He was a prominent member and musical director of the renowned Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club, which paid tribute to the music of the original Buena Vista Social Club releases with their ‘Adios’ tour.

The B.V Orchestra under the direction of Ramos celebrates the legacy of the legendary group in 2024 with a new stage production and repertoire pulled from the greatest hits and deep-dive cuts.

Ramos is joined on this inaugural tour by an all-star ensemble of established Cuban musicians including ‘Betun’ Luis Mariano Valiente Marin (congas, bongo), Emilio Senon Morales Ruiz (piano) and Fabian Garcia (bass).’

Jesus Ramos and the Buena Vista Orchestra epitomised the very best of Cuban music, energy and flair. I enjoyed every minute and this was only surpassed by seeing them some years ago in Cuba. Brilliant from start to finish. The support band The Gulls were also very good

  • Brilliant ! Completely impossible not to need to dance !

A fantastic night out. The band, with every musician with total mastery of their instrument, created a sound that makes it impossible not to want to dance. Cuban pianists are always brilliant but this guy was unbelievably talented. The brass section were amazing, percussion that blew me away, even the guy on the double bass made that reliable sound exciting. The singers of course were excellent and the dancing.... well you just had to get up out of your seat and join in. A brilliant, uplifting evening. Guay Guys !
