James announce UK summer shows for 2025
James are Tim Booth, Jim Glennie, Saul Davies, Adrian Oxaal, David Baynton-Power, Mark Hunter, Andy Diagram, Chloe Alper, Deborah Knox-Hewson.
The band formed in Manchester in the early '80s and quickly earned a cult following with their jangly folk pop sound. The band was dubbed the next Smiths, even getting a thumbs up from frontman Morrissey who invited them to join The Smiths on tour. James scored their first big hit in 1991 with the single Sit Down and built on that success further with their critically acclaimed album Laid, produced by Brian Eno. The album became their biggest success in the US.
One of Britain’s most enduring success stories, James have released 16 studio albums, selling over 25 million copies with their recent run of Top 5 albums proving to be a golden era for the band. All The Colours Of You, released in 2021, was their most critically acclaimed in many years, preceded by Living In Extraordinary Times and Girl At The End Of The World which only narrowly missed out on the top spot in 2016 to Adele.
To coincide with 40 years since their first show as James (The Hacienda, supporting Big Country - 17 Nov 1982) the band announced the James Lasted tour and a new double album, both accompanied by an orchestra and gospel choir.
Really looking forward to go to the concert. We will travel from Amsterdam to Cardiff to see James.
I have being going to see James at least once or twice each year for the past lot of years. Now my children come along with me. My best pal introduced me to James. They are superb live interaction with fans is superb, new album Yummy is fantastic and the Orchestra tour was out of this world. I just Love JAMES
James are one if not my favourite band and Tim and cream never ever fail to disappoint. They always work with crowd, showcase their latest album and give the fans and crowd what we want. I have seen them more or less every year over the last 6 years. I love this band sooooo much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Brilliant night James and Tim were fantastic think all the group deserve a round of applause because if one was missing it wouldn't be what it was absolutely brilliant Saul Davis brilliant as ever .
Absolutely amazing,James has still got it and being outside made it even better, thank you for a wonderful evening
Great range of songs, captivating throughout! Also enjoyed both The Lilacs and Reverend and the Maker as support, despite not being familiar with them. Only downside to the performance was that it had to end! Can't wait to book again!
I have seen James numerous times but this is the best yet, take a bow Tim Booth Fantastic venue as well
Brilliant night, James you knocked it out of the park again. Saw the Leeds show which was excellent, but this venue suits you to a tee. Great atmosphere and support acts were great, the Reverend made everyone bounce!!!
Arrived 10 minutes before Reverend and the Makers came on stage to see the open air theatre was 80% full already. The Rev and his band put on an entertaining and lively show and we're well worth a watch. Played all of their hits in a 45 minute set and set the tone for the nights entertainment. James came on stage around 9pm and played a set of both new and old songs. Hit after hit was performed to a appreciative audience as Tim Booth danced and sang away the evening. The crowd was up out of their seats halfway through the gig and stayed out of them till the finish. A concert to remember was enjoyed by all. The only disappointment of the night was the lack of choice at the bars for the seated fans. No other lager than (awful brewdog in cans ) Brew dog IPA and some small 330mill cans of unknown cider. The fans in the standing areas actually had beers on draught what they were I can't say as we were not allowed to access them. Overall a great night but the choice of beers or lack of leaves a lot to be desired.
Really enjoyed the whole event with three different Bands on. Couldn't stop until the end as had a taxi booked for 10.30 and James still had 15 mins ish to finish his set. Was late starting at 9.00pm so that was the reason which was disappointing. Ticketmaster advertised the event at 6.00pm to 10.00pm so thought 10.30 would cover it.
