About

Sin City’s boundary-blurring alt-rockers return to London as part of the LOOM world tour

First appearing in charts in the late 2000s, Las Vegas' Imagine Dragons have masterfully refined and mastered a sound that, harnessing the strength of stadium rock with the melodic power of folk-pop and the sonic exploration of electronica, has enthralled the masses ever since.

Formed by vocalist Dan Reynolds and drummer Wayne Sermon, who knew each other from college, and bassist Ben McKee, Imagine Dragons began getting traction in their hometown of Provo, Utah, before they moved to Las Vegas to record their first EPs: their self-titled debut (2009); Hell and Science (2010); and It's Time (2011).

Continued Silence and Hear Me followed in 2012, both recorded in West Hollywood with producer Alex Da Kid. Understanding the gravitas and appeal of the songs that appeared on these two EPs, together they made up Imagine Dragons' debut album Night Visions.

Selling more than 83,000 copies in its first week, Night Visions would go on to garner platinum certification the world over, including seven times in the States and Canada. It featured the tracks 'Radioactive' and 'On Top Of The World', which introduced the sheer power in Reynolds voice and set the path for the band's melodic prowess as they began to tour sell-out shows relentlessly.

Writing new material as they toured their debut, when Imagine Dragons finally returned to the studio they were armed with a chest of new songs to choose from. In October 2014 they released 'I Bet My Time', suggesting their ear for cathartic choruses were going nowhere. It would eventually feature on Smoke + Mirrors, Imagine Dragons' second full-length, released in February 2015. The album also included the jagged and bluesy 'I'm So Sorry' and the cinematic 'Dream'. The album debuted at No.1 at home, Canada and the UK. Once again the band took the album on the road, and even released a live version of album, recorded at Toronto's Air Canada Centre in 2017.

EVOLVE followed that year, earning a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album. As their stadiums and arenas got bigger, so did the songs; EVOLVE featured some of the band's biggest smash hits, notably 'Believer', 'Radioactive' and 'Thunder' – all three became Top 5 radio hits and topped several Billboard charts. 'Believer' is one of the best-selling singles of all time.

A year later came Origins, the band's fourth studio album, described by Reynolds as the 'sister' album to EVOLVE. Its lead single 'Natural' became the 2018 anthem for ESPN's College Football coverage ('Roots' had also been used three years earlier).

For their fifth album Imagine Dragons partnered with the mythologised producer Rick Rubin. Together they created the double album Mercury – Act 1 & 2, released in two parts over 2021 and 2022 and including the JID collaboration 'Enemy', which featured on the Netflix series Arcane.

2024 saw the release of LOOM, after teasing new music on their social media channels. It was lead by singles 'Eyes Closed' (the album would also feature a version with reggaeton star J Balvin) and 'Nice To Meet You'. Imagine Dragons bring LOOM to the UK for a date at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 26 July 2025 as part of their world tour.
