  • Car park Madness

by Pedro Pete on 06/08/2024Audley End - EssexRating: 4 out of 5

An excellent show which was spoilt by the inevitable chaos of getting out of the car park. Always plenty of help to get you in then a free for all to get out.

  • Very good

This was an excellent selection of shows the Old sailors brilliant, food offering good suited all, water station a little more signage need. The issues are an accessible toilet was put in and bands issued but we still cued behind people with none or a general band so what's the point, get security or who ever to stop that and getting out 90 minutes for people with complex issues to come out of carpark no info given.

  • Madness….always a proper show

Great venue (as long as it's a warm sunny day/evening. Getting out of the parking after the show not the best but to be expected. Obviously drinks are crazy prices which always sours an event

  • Fantastic experience... with a few 'buts'!

by RC on 24/07/2024Englefield House - ReadingRating: 4 out of 5

Pete Tong, full orchestra, Groove Armada, The Grid - absolutely brilliant performances from all (particularly the orchestra) and a fantastic experience in a beautiful setting. However, there were a few issues. With just one stage, the gaps between acts were just too long. Pete Tong and the orchestra should really have played at least a 2hr set (it was just under 90mins) and started before 9pm. There were also some sound issues, and Pete Tong looked annoyed and (possibly) a little bored in the early part of the set. Not sure if his stoic expression is standard, but he still put on a great show. Finally, with such a vast catalogue of Ibiza Classics to choose from, there was definitely a mainstream/filler/lazy section in the middle. Yes, they have to please everyone, but the crowd went flat for a while - this set list felt like a compilation album rather than a club experience. More euphoric anthems were needed, especially with an orchestra, and there were a few obvious omissions. All in, a few things I'd change but this didn't take much away from a great night out. Will definitely book again next summer.

  • Slow build-up, but fantastic finale

by Alex on 22/07/2024Englefield House - ReadingRating: 4 out of 5

Got the site around 1:30pm knowing that the first act Groove Armada didn't start performing until 4pm. The site was fantastic, clean, and beautiful. When the Groove Armada came on, the performance was great. The site wasn't overcrowded. However, there was a lull in atmosphere between when they finished and The Grid started (15 minutes late). The Grid were ok. There first gig for a while, so wasn't expecting much. I was expecting that their performance would be more than 30 minutes though. I will say this was forgiven because the main even Pete Tong ect. were fantastic at what they were doing. The crowd filled the front of the arena, but with a nice chilled vibe it wasn't shoulder-to-shoulder. Everyone was dancing, singing, having a great time. Great performance. The only real con is that the parking is a nightmare. You have to leave early to get out of the estate, which has single old style road and gate, if you don't want to sit in a queue for an hour or more. But we love queues don't we.

  • Superb !

Pete Tong and the Heritage Orchester were superb......its my go-to gym music that I've listened to many times, but the real thing was just jaw dropping. Great evening.

  • Whoop Whoop!!!

AMAZING from start to finish. Englefield House was a brilliant venue, tons of parking, beautiful setting, lots of bars, food and toilets and loads of space. Great atmosphere, mainly 50 year old plus ex ravers, like my friends and i, re living our youth, under the stars, with great music and plenty of relaxing inbetween sets. Super friendly atmosphere, started with Groove Armada, awesome as always, The Grid were excellent and Pete Tong and the orchestra were just incredible. I had seen them last year in Birmingham but being under the stars on a summer's evening took it to another level. All the classics, superb vocalists and we all agreed, the most handsome Tuber player we had ever seen ;) Totally recommend everything about the whole event, even leaving the carpark was fine as well.
