About

Lin-Manuel Miranda’s multi-award-winning cultural phenomenon Hamilton is touring the UK for the very first time.

Hamilton is the story of America's Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington's right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and helped shape the foundations of the America we know today. The score blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B and Broadway - the story of America then, as told by America now.

Hamilton has a book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire and is based on Ron Chernow's biography of Alexander Hamilton.

Winner of 11 Tony Awards including Best Musical, 7 Olivier Awards, the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album.

See Hamilton at the Victoria Palace Theatre in London's West End.

  • An astonishing night's experience

by JJ on 09/09/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

Uneducated on the American Revolution War and the founding fathers I arrived at the Birmingham Hippodrome recently feeling slightly disinterested. Having never read the book or listened to the soundtrack I was an absolute beginner on the plot, story, narrative, cast and songs. I now feel utterly ashamed and embarrassed after the experience of the Hamilton show literally changed my life. My daughter and I watched in utter awe, joy and growing emotion towards the story and the absolutely incredible talent of the cast. At the songs flew past one by one drawing us into the story I knew the original soundtrack would be one that will now forever live with me. Highest praise and adoration for the cast and crew for and unforgiving experience that I was just not at all prepared for.
