Following an unprecedented response to the recordings that took place at the London Palladium for BBC Radio 2, Friday Night Is Music Night is set to embark on two huge UK tours.
Keane frontman Tom Chaplin will once again celebrate the music of Queen with six shows from 8 – 18 April 2019. Backed by the same 24-piece Leo Green Orchestra that accompanied him at The Palladium, Chaplin will perform Somebody to Love, Bohemian Rhapsody and many other hits as he celebrates one of the most enduring bands of all time.
Then in autumn from 1 – 14 October 2019 October Beverley Knight is singing the many hits of the legendary Stevie Wonder also back by the Leo Green Orchestra. You'll hear Sir Duke, Higher Ground, Signed Sealed Delivered, For Once In My Life, Isn’t She Lovely, Superstition and more.
Friday Night Is Music Night launched in 1953, televised for the very first time on BBC Four in 2005. The BBC Radio 2 show blends orchestral music with a mixture of contemporary music, songs from musicals and films, opera and more. Each week delivers on a set theme, revealed on the night.
