About
Famed for their untamed live shows

Formidable Gallows and Pure Love frontman Frank Carter and guitarist Dean Richardson got together with bassist Tom “Tank” Barclay and drummer Gareth Grover to form Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes in early 2015. That summer they released their debut album, the visceral and chaotic Blossom, which climbed to No.18 on the UK albums chart.
The punk rockers followed that up with the No.7 chart-topping record, Modern Ruin, in 2017. While hitting the road to promote it, they not only garnered a reputation for delivering ferocious live gigs full of raucous energy, crowd surfers and moshing heads, but the foursome were also nominated as Best UK Band at that year’s Heavy Music Awards.
In 2018, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes released the live album 23 Live At Brixton Academy, recorded at their sold-out headline show in 2017 where they had played every song from their first two albums.
Named after the Buddhist term for enlightenment, their third full-length End Of Suffering arrived in 2019 and peaked at No.4 on the UK albums chart with its critically acclaimed collection of emotionally charged grunge ballads, from the title track – a song on which Carter declares his love for his daughter – to Crowbar and Love Games.
Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes performed a one-off live gig from London’s O2 Academy Brixton on 13 November 2020 via MelodyVR. Called Brixton By Request, the show featured interactive elements never done before while bringing the band’s electrifying performance along with tracks from their Blossom deluxe edition album to life.
Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes were revealed in Download 2021’s opening day line-up and as support for Biffy Clyro at their huge homecoming show at Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park in June 2021.
