About

Singer, songwriter, TV presenter and one-time 'Man Of The Year'

Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Eric Nam’s list of talents spans across industries and continents as the 32-year-old content creator has found huge success in both the US and South Korea. The K-pop star took his first steps into the music industry after he graduated from Boston College in 2011 with a major in international studies and minor in Asian studies.

After posting a YouTube cover that went viral, the musician was invited to audition for a TV singing competition not all too dissimilar to The X Factor in Korea where he made it to the final five, resulting in him signing with B2M Entertainment in 2012. With B2M behind him, the artist released his debut EP called Cloud 9 just a few short months later. Leading the release with the single Heaven’s Door, the record included a number of romantic ballads which were a hit with both Asian and American K-pop fans.

His ever-growing fanbase around the world opened the doors to TV opportunities for Nam who went on to host an interactive show for K-pop stars and their fans which was broadcast in 188 countries. Off the back of this success, he released a number of popular singles including Ooh Ooh, Melt My Heart, I’m OK and Dream with Park Jimin of BTS fame.

In 2015, Nam moved to the CJ E&M label where he released the acoustic Spring Love with Wendy of Red Velvet, followed by his sophomore EP Interview. Nam worked with a number of notable names in 2016 from EDM group KOLAJ to producer Timbaland.

Nam’s music and TV work in both Asia and America landed him on Forbes’ “30 Under 30” list, helped him sell out three US shows in just one minute during presale and saw him named 2016's "Man Of The Year" by GQ Korea

Honestly was the title of his third EP which featured hit singles like Potion and played into the musician’s synth, electro-pop roots while also incorporating some dancehall and reggaeton influences. The album climbed all the way to No.6 on the Billboard World Album charts in the first week after its release.

In 2018, Nam started his North American Honestly Tour which included 15 shows across 14 cities. He launched his second podcast, I Think You’re Dope With Eric Nam, a year later and it topped the charts in over 25 countries worldwide.

Nam was forced to cancel a number of dates on his 2020 world tour due to the COVID-19 pandemic but softened the blow to fans with the release of The Other Side, his fourth EP.

In 2021, Nam released Echo, his final single with CJ E&M as his contract expired.
