Dear Evan Hansen Musical

ABOUT Dear Evan Hansen Musical 2021

Dear Evan Hansen is a brand-new London musical playing at Noël Coward Theatre, first opening in the West End in November 2019 after it's hugely successful Broadway run of shows and Tony Award for Best Musical. Both timely and timeless, theatre-goers can expect tears, laughter and ultimately a powerful story with a poignant message of feeling lost in today's hyperconnected world.

The plot centres around Evan Hansen, who suffers from crippling social anxiety and writes a self-help note following the advice of his counsellor. However, his life soon changes forever after the death of his classmate Connor, with Evan's note mistakenly believed to be Connor's suicide letter. Swept up in the lie, Evan finds a sense of connection and belonging he never had before by claiming to be Connor's closest friend.

Dear Evan Hansen London production includes a technologically complex stage backdrop, highlighting interactions through social media and its role in helping a message spread out of control and even alter reality. The show is underpinned by an incredible musical score and original songs penned by Benj Pasek & Justin Paul, including Anybody Have A Map, Waving Through A Window, Requiem and You Will Be Found from a stunning soundtrack.

Both modern and moving, Dear Evan Hansen has been nominated for seven Olivier Awards, including Best New Musical, and won multiple awards, including two WhatsOnStage Awards and a Critics Circle Theatre Award for Sam Tutty's performance as the eponymous Evan.
