Dayseeker are a metalcore band from Orange County, California. Formed in 2012, they released their debut album What It Means To Be Defeated in 2013, which featured the tracks 'Black Earth', 'Hollow Shell' and 'Dead Man'. "Packed full of angsty lyrics and methodically placed back tracks," wrote a Punktastic review, "these San Diego punk rockers illuminate a darkened view of the world with a surprisingly distinct tone."
Dayseeker released their second studio album Origin in 2015, gaining particular popularity for tracks such as 'The Earth Will Turn' and 'A Cancer Contained'. A deluxe edition released a year later included a cover of Nick Jonas' 'Jealous'.
Dreaming Is Sinking /// Waking Is Rising followed in 2017, with critics noting the development of frontman Rory Rodriguez's clean vocals as a powerful counterpart to the growls and screams. Songs such as 'Six Feet Under' and 'Vultures' are particular hits from the record.
In 2019, Dayseeker released their fourth album Sleeptalk, the title-track of which remains one of the band's biggest hits, alongside 'Burial Pit' and 'Crooked Soul'.
The band released their fifth album Dark Sun in 2022, which made use of synths and electronic elements to add both atmospherics and melodic hooks, as on 'Without Me'.
