Huge live music performances at Liverpool’s Pier Head

Since its inception, the global dance brand Cream has staged an extraordinary series of sell-out shows in Liverpool.

The award-winning promoters have been collaborating to create unique concerts where an orchestra performs classical arrangements of their dance anthems alongside guest vocalists, DJs and other entertainers. Electronic music duo and former Cream residents K-Klass carefully curate the shows.

The first concert called Cream Classical Live was held in 2016 and featured music from the 60-piece Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. It boasted a night of dance music classics as never heard or seen before in the majestic surroundings of Liverpool Cathedral. An overwhelming success, Cream Classical Live returned in 2017, 2018 and 2019 with more K-Klass selections brought to life orchestrally.

In addition, 2019 saw thousands of people flock to the first Cream Classical In The Park. Held at Liverpool’s Sefton Park over the summer, Manchester’s 50-piece Kaleidoscope Orchestra played in the exciting outdoor show under the stars where 20 of Cream’s biggest DJs also came together to celebrate the beloved soundtrack.

Another Liverpool landmark – the “Three Graces” with the historic Pier Head area as the backdrop – became the setting for a pair of Cream Classical On The Waterfront shows in September 2021. On the first night, the late-summer festival brought together the Kaleidoscope Orchestra with a spine-tingling set list from K-Klass plus some of the biggest names to have graced the decks at Cream’s legendary club including Basement Jaxx, Faithless, Seb Fontaine and Tall Paul. The following evening saw a second instalment called Cream Classical Ibiza On The Waterfront. With a different K-Klass set list, it also featured the Kaleidoscope Orchestra, Seb Fontaine and Tall Paul plus DJ sets from Armand van Helden, Groove Armada, Roger Sanchez and more.

Due to its overwhelming success, organisers announced the return of their Cream Classical On The Waterfront series for 17 – 18 September 2022 with the Kaleidoscope Orchestra, singers and performers curated by K-Klass, all joining together for two special shows to mark Cream’s 30th anniversary.
