The story

Come Alive! brings circus artistry and musical theatre together. Inspired by The Greatest Showman film, with songs by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, we're looking to the 2017 film for narrative cues.

The story of The Greatest Showman follows P.T. Barnum, a visionary who rises from humble beginnings to create the world’s first circus. Inspired by the desire to provide for his family and celebrate uniqueness, Barnum assembles a diverse group of performers, showcasing their talents despite societal prejudice. The film explores themes of acceptance, self-discovery, and the pursuit of dreams, highlighting the importance of embracing individuality and creating a sense of belonging.

Come Alive! promises a brand-new story but we think many of these themes will be included. More to come!

The music

You'll be familiar with most of the music, as Come Alive! is set to feature The Greatest Showman's most beloved songs including 'This Is Me,' 'Rewrite the Stars,' 'A Million Dreams,' 'Tightrope,' and 'The Greatest Show'.

The creative team

Come Alive! features international circus talent, including Cirque de Demain Medal winners and Cirque du Soleil performers, alongside acclaimed artists from London’s West End. The production is led by Drama Desk Award-winning Creative Director Simon Hammerstein, co-founder of The Box and known for Usher's sold-out My Way Las Vegas residency and Queen of the Night.

Hammerstein is supported by a skilled creative team, including Music Producer and Olivier Award nominee Matthew Brind (Paddington 2, Legally Blonde), Lead Choreographer Jerry Reeve (Taylor Swift), and Emmy-nominated Lighting Designer Adam Bassett (London 2012 Olympics).

The musical duo Pasek and Paul are renowned for their contributions to musical theatre, including the Tony Award-winning Dear Evan Hansen, and they received a Golden Globe and an Academy Award for 'City of Stars' from La La Land, along with their impressive contribution to The Greatest Showman.

  • Not the best for a show but good circus event

by Jadaz on 31/12/2024Rating: 3 out of 5

Whilst enjoyable circus performance and great acrobatics the story was limited and too busy on the circus floor to know where to watch. The story was only the singing related sadly there was time wasted in prop set up and change of scene. Does anyone know what the character represented was for the guy dress in all black and face covering on and just walked around stamping a stick ? He confused me. Loved the pre show and circus set up around the main stage that's worth visiting and doing pre show but not well advertised many turning up Justin time for show they missed out. Expensive tickets for what we experienced it's great for kids for a general circus show

  • Unbelievable would go again in a heart beat!

Me and my husband went and it was breath taking. The circus acts, the signing, production and the performances were out of this world. I would recommend this to any who likes The Greatest Showman it is a night you will not forget.

We were amazed, excited, scared, emotional... It was a breathtaking show with extremely talented and hardworking people. The greatest show we've ever seen. The venue was very well organised.
