We're sorry, but we couldn’t find any events
Christmas is the season to enjoy lights and Edinburgh’s Christmas at the Botanics features shimmering treetops and much more! There’s an enchanting after-dark experience along a one-mile sparkling path to enjoy. Now in its second year, their winter trail is returning with more than a million shimmering lights and other new things to see.
Wander beneath tree canopies and see the iconic glasshouses drenched in Christmas colour. For 2018, fairy tale meets fantasy on the trail. There’ll be gigantic glowing flowers riseing high into the sky as well as illuminated tree sculptures with delicate beads of light clinging to each branch. Expect some hidden surprises too – such as frosty snowflakes, shards of light, stars and baubles, gingerbread men and marching reindeer where you least expect to see them.
Plus, don’t forget to visit Santa and his elves along the way. Stop at the scented Fire Garden for a moment of reflection or immerse yourself in playful ribbons of colour-changing globes. In the distance spot the towering Tunnel of Light festooned by over 100,000 pea-lights. Culminating this year’s Botanics is spectacular Festive Finale on Inverleith House Lawn with brightly coloured projections dancing in time to much loved Christmas classics.
At Christmas at the Botanics, you can also enjoy spiced cider, mulled wine and hot chocolate as well as roasting chestnuts. Toast your own marshmallows at one of the fire pits or tuck in to other traditional fare before finishing your Christmas shopping in the gift shop.
