About

DIY indie pop from Cambridge-based singer-songwriter Robin Skinner

Cavetown began life as a YouTube channel from a then teenaged Robin Skinner. Skinner attracted a healthy following by covering songs from the likes of Justin Bieber, twenty one pilots and The Libertines on his ukelele and sharing them online. Skinner's own material proved just as popular, resulting in a wealth of independent albums, singles and EPs which he released via Bandcamp.

Most notable among these was 2018's Lemon Boy, which gained more widespread attention with its fleshed out arrangements and melodic, confessional indie pop. Skinner followed this with a series of singles which were compiled together into the Animal Kingdom collection.

Following a deal with esteemed Warner imprint Sire (The Replacements, Talking Heads, Tegan And Sara), Skinner released Cavetown's major label debut album Sleepyhead in 2020 to hugely positive reviews. That same year, he collaborated with mxmtoon, co-writing and producing her album The Masquerade.

In 2021, Cavetown released the follow-up to Sleepyhead, the introspective EP Man's Best Friend. To support the release, Skinner also announced a string of Cavetown UK tour dates for December 2021.
