About Bunny Wailer
Bunny Wailer shares with only a select few, the title, 'The King of Reggae’. Throughout the 1960's and early 1970’s, the Wailers covered three distinct types of Jamaican music (ska, rocksteady, and finally reggae). And throughout these years, band members came and went. But three members remained throughout; Robert Nesta Marley, Winston Hubert McIntosh, and Neville Livingston; better known as Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, and Bunny Wailer. The Wailers were responsible for such ground breaking songs as, "Simmer Down", "Trenchtown Rock”, "Nice Time", "Stir It Up", "Get Up Stand Up", and countless others. B unny Wailer was named by Newsweek magazine as one of the three most important figures of world music. He was given the keys to the cities of Oakland, Miami and California. He has also received National accolades such as the Commander of Distinction and more recently, the Honour of the Order of Jamaica in 2012. After his memorable performance at the Reggae Sumfest 2012, Bunny received an award and was recognized for his outstanding contribution to the development and promotion of Jamaican music globally.
“Even the name is legend. Bunny Wailer. He grew up in the same house as Bob Marley, and together with Peter Tosh, they created not just The Wailers but a new template for sound’' GQ
