Twenty-seven-year-old Maryland crooner Brent Faiyaz is known for his introspective lyrics and experimental sound. Beginning as a self-produced artist on SoundCloud, he’s come a long way from his DIY roots, but his recognisable style and voice – equal parts playful and vulnerable – remains.
After the success of his F*ck The World EP in 2020 and a huge collaboration year in 2021 that saw him partner with the likes of Tems, Drake, Tyler The Creator, Baby Keem & Meek Mill, Faiyaz made history with his 2022 album, Wasteland. The RIAA Gold album marks the highest-ever chart position for an independent R&B, debuting at no.2 on the Billboard Top 200. It also boasts RIAA Platinum singles ‘Dead Man Walking’ and ‘Gravity’ featuring Tyler, The Creator as well as RIAA Gold single ‘Wasting Time’ featuring Drake & The Neptunes. Its latest single, ‘All Mine’, hit no.1 on Urban Radio, marking Brent's highest showing on the chart to date. Brent was nominated in the 2022 AMAs and Soul Train Awards and has also landed a nomination in the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards. There’s no stopping him now.
