About

Earnest, 80s-indebted pop rock from super-producer Jack Antonoff

Somewhere in between producing and writing for music's biggest stars (including Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey and Lorde) and scoring GRAMMYs with pop trio fun., Jack Antonoff founded Bleachers – a rock and synth-pop band marrying earnest emotion and 80s-leaning production values.

Antonoff began work on the first Bleachers songs while touring fun.’s massively successful 2012 record, Some Nights. By 2014, he released his first Bleachers single ‘I Wanna Get Better’, accompanied by a video directed by Lena Dunham. The band’s debut album, Strange Desire, followed that same year, with guest spots from Grimes and Yoko Ono.

Bleachers’ second album, Gone Now, was teased via a recreation of Jack Antonoff’s childhood bedroom, rebuilt in a trailer and taken on tour, allowing fans to listen to the album inside the installation. Following an MTV Unplugged appearance at New Jersey’s storied Stone Pony venue, Antonoff contributed five songs to the Love, Simon soundtrack, including four as Bleachers.

For their third album, Take The Sadness Out Of Saturday Night, Bleachers tapped into the spirit of their home state’s biggest hero Bruce Springsteen, with a collaboration on heartland rock single ‘Chinatown'. The band’s self-titled album followed in 2024, preceded by the singles ‘Me Before You’, ‘Modern Girl’, ‘Alma Mater’, and ‘Tiny Moves’, which featured Jack Antonoff’s wife Margaret Qualley in its accompanying video. The album reached No.5 in the UK album charts and was followed by a UK tour.
