About

Radio 2 in the Park is BBC Radio 2's flagship live music event

Every year they host some of the world’s most-loved pop stars in a different UK city for three days of incredible live music, and in 2025 they head to Hylands Park in Chelmsford, Essex with pop rock gods Bryan Adams and Def Leppard both topping the bill.

2024's edition was held in Moor Park, Preston and featured headliners Sting and the Pet Shop Boys. In 2023, Victoria Park in Leicester saw Tears For Fears and Kylie headline the main stage.

Loved every minute. And despite being cold, wet and very muddy on Sunday would definitely repeat the experience. Michael Ball was my favourite DJ set, followed by Tony Blackburn and Jo Wiley. Snow Patrol was my favourite band. Was disappointed I didn't stay to watch more of the pet shop boys. My friend had had enough and I was lucky I got to see 4 songs. Well done to everyone who stayed to the bitter end. Roll on next year.

  • FAB MUSIC PRICEY FOOD!!!

by SUGABABELOVER on 08/09/2024Moor Park - PrestonRating: 4 out of 5

Music was sensational. Craig D , sugababes and Sting -amazing! Flow of crowd in places too busy! Crushing near Gladiater queue. One lady in a mobility scooter just trapped! Toilets clean & hand gel! Food pricey (£26 for x2 burger and chips!) come on now. Wheel was a great view despite charging my 12 an adult price! Perhaps two exists needed at the end. Great experience in Preston... Thanks

  • Great for a Preston but busy

Good effort for Preston - was very very busy - sadly let down buy some very sweary security guards from a subcontracting 3rd party

  • Great Line Up- Well Organised

    by Peepo17 on 08/09/2024Moor Park - PrestonRating: 5 out of 5

BBC/Radio 2 Party in the Park - what an event! So well organised - doors opened at 11am we were there for 12 mid-day - no queues at the gate. Lots of lines open, security checks were quick and friendly. Lots of room (initially) to set up your picnic area - everyone friendly there was a great atmosphere. Toilets were clean and plenty of them. Lots of food choices I never waited in line for drinks, lots of people serving. Then the line up….. Travis started us off, great song choices and everyone singing along, I personally loved the Sugar Babes, Snow Patrol were fabulous but the ultimate, the headliner, the amazing Sting- he thrilled me - he sang most of his songs from the 80s/90s - he was so strong on stage - his singing and guitar playing were just like he was 30-40 years ago - great event through and through well done Radio 2 (ps I'm watching it all again today on TV)

  • Fantastic line up

by Southport Girls on 08/09/2024Moor Park - PrestonRating: 5 out of 5

From start to finish everything so well organised big green bus from Southport friendliest driver ever. Arrive at event 11am and enjoyed cake and coffee before finding a spot underneath lanterns to enjoy all the amazing acts. Toilets nice and clean. Fresh water to fill up water bottle available and so many choices for food. Ques for bar short and fast. The weather was glorious and every single act was good and put on a fantastic performance bus took us back and bus driver still as friendly as ever a fantastic day.

  • Fantastic artists, venue a shamble!

by Sara & John on 08/09/2024Moor Park - PrestonRating: 3 out of 5

The show and artists as last year exceeded expectations but the venue was chaos. No clear demarcation for sitting which created absolute carnage moving around the site and felt unsafe. This didn't happen at Leicester! People were walking everywhere to try to get to loos and facilities. I failed to attend today as a result and absolutely gutted.

  • Well Organised

    by Judy81 on 08/09/2024Moor Park - PrestonRating: 4 out of 5

We had a really good time at radio 2 in the park. In summary the positives were a quick, hassle free entrance, quick service at the bar, clean toilets that we didn't have to queue at for ages. Negatives, bar prices and the time it took to move around the park and queue for food with the sheer number of people present. In regards to the the music, we enjoyed watching the radio 2 DJ's in the DJ tent far more than the actual acts performing. Person favourites Romesh & Rylan. Thanks for a great day Radio 2

  • Very well organised event

    by Carol B on 08/09/2024Moor Park - PrestonRating: 5 out of 5

Went Friday night and Saturday. The DJ set was amazing such a party and better than I thought it would be. The event was very well organised and I felt that they genuinely wanted to look after you and give a good time. The staff were all polite and this made a difference as other events I've been to I didn't experience that. I still think the price of food is outrageous and unnecessary but you could take your own in which made a difference The stage, lighting and sound was amazing. Can't wait for next year !
