About

British five-piece tapping the rock roots of metalcore

Starting life as Amongst Us before they became End Of Reason, Asking Alexandria is the third iteration of the band founded by guitarist Ben Bruce in the mid ’00s – now matured into metalcore stalwarts with the confidence to keep reinventing themselves.

Bruce first launched the band in Dubai, putting out their first EP, Tommorow. Hope. Goodbye., in 2006, followed by their debut album, The Irony Of Your Perfection. Moving back to England, Bruce dissolved the band and reformed it again under the same name, recruiting lead singer Danny Worsnop along with a whole new line-up before touring the US and prepping Asking Alexandria’s second official debut, Stand Up And Scream, in 2009.

Leaving their post-hardcore roots behind as they threw themselves headlong into metalcore, Asking Alexandria found themselves flirting with the mainstream in 2011 after their EDM remix album, Stepped Up And Scratched, helped to carry sister release Reckless & Relentless into the Billboard top ten.

Eager to keep evolving their sound, the band’s 2013 follow-up took another hard left-turn –overstepping genre boundaries to find focus in hard rock and hair metal with From Death To Destiny. Worsnop left Asking Alexandria for We Are Harlot in January 2015, briefly replaced by new lead singer Denis Stoff for 2016’s The Black – an album that melded past and present into an expansive new sound that lifted arena roofs supporting Bullet For My Valentine on their North American tour.

2017 saw yet another rebirth for Asking Alexandria. With Stoff swapped out by the same man he replaced, Worsnop returned to the frontline alongside Bruce for the band’s tenth anniversary and a new self-titled album. Now reaching for stadium rock glory, Asking Alexandria soundtracked the band’s biggest sound-shift yet – with 2020’s follow-up, Like A House On Fire, adding another raft of powerhouse angst anthems to their set-lists.

In 2021 Asking Alexandria announced UK tour dates to support the release of their new album, See What’s On The Inside.
