About Will Smith: How to be Cool

"One of the most reliably excellent comedians"
Independent on Sunday

This year, having received critical acclaim from audiences and critics alike for his fourth consecutive solo show, How To Be Cool,  Will Smith will be polishing his piercings, lacing up his Converse All-stars, and pimp-walking into the heart of London in his quest to discover...

What is Cool? How do you become Cool? Are we born Cool or do we have Coolness thrust upon us?

"A blinder of a show...You'll never tire of watching this likeable comic"

When does cool become contrived? Why is Pete Doherty (an insect) considered cooler than Ray Mears (a God)?

What makes a cool icon? Not playing by the rules, a hint of danger, unpredictability, not caring what people think of you, ploughing your own furrow? It must be more than that, as those criteria could include Harold Shipman and Fred West.

Will Smith will unravel the iconography and mechanics of cool and expose the contradictions and hypocrisy that is at the heart of Western society. He'll also play some Dire Straits.

Will's three hugely successful live shows have gone a long way to making him one of the most sought after performers and writers in the UK.
