  • Entertaining and Informative

    by None on 16/10/2024The O2 - LondonRating: 5 out of 5

Thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Loved the finale! Only downside were the usual issues that the O2 seems determined not to fix. A ridiculous bag policy (although I was not personally affected as I was aware and only took a small folder with me) and paying £4.10 for a small bottle of water! Pity there isn't another venue of sufficient size in London to give them some genuine competition.

  • Great show, terrible seating

by CazP on 14/10/2024O2 Apollo Manchester - ManchesterRating: 3 out of 5

The show itself was good but it was hard to enjoy it as there were far too many seats in the Stalls area. The seats are a temporary, moveable arrangement and therefore half could have been used, given the ticket price, to make the event more comfortable and enjoyable. Felt like 'bums on seats'/profit was much more important to the organisers than customer satisfaction or enjoyment.

  • Insightful fun.

A few years ago I would have laughed at anyone who said I'd pay money to watch 2 political figures hold a discussion on stage. But TRIP has become a must listen for me and this version on stage works really well. Amusing and insightful, the 2 sessions skated by. The icing on the cake was the appearance in the second half of Katty Kay and The Mooch. It was a master stroke to set up TRIP US and it was a real treat to the two of them live in Manchester.

  • Excellent!

Punchy, good-humoured political discussions amongst the 4 hosts of 'The Rest is Politics' in both the UK and the US. Informative and highly entertaining.

  • A wonderful , funny , engaging experience

by Mothership on 12/10/2024O2 Apollo Manchester - ManchesterRating: 5 out of 5

What impressed me most: The venue All the speakers were excellent , articulate , informed, self aware , engaging , charismatic and funny Can't single one out but felt privileged to hear Anthony and Kathy as we had all booked without knowing they would be there Their ability to read the audience and keep us informed I have never laughed so much at the theatre Just loved the experience

  • Outstanding from start to finish

by Gee on 12/10/2024O2 Apollo Manchester - ManchesterRating: 5 out of 5

Worth every penny of the train and subsequent taxi home. Brilliant show and my only real sadness was the sense of what could have been, we could have had Rory Stewart as a PM. Can 100% recommend to anyone thinking of attending!

  • Great Night

by Lorraine on 07/10/2024The Brighton Centre - BrightonRating: 4 out of 5

I have been a listener to the podcast since day one and am huge fan of Alastair and Rory, plus I am a TRIP member. It was a very enjoyable evening in Brighton but I have a couple of criticisms. 1. The time was advertised at 6.30 on the tickets and everywhere. Disappointed to learn on arrival that it didn't start until 7.30 after a rush to get there. Made long journey home very late. 2. I thought one of the biggest issues in the Labour Party of late was the issue to gifts and this was completely overlooked in the discussions. 3. Too many light hearted questions were chosen in the second half.

  • Excellent Evening

Great first half but disappointing second half. Entertaining but I wanted more political analysis.
