About

One of musical theatre’s best loved leading ladies

Musical powerhouse Marisha Wallace has one of the most magnificent voices on Broadway and in the West End. Born and raised in a small North Carolina town, she landed her first job in a touring production of The Book Of Mormon. That experience led her to Broadway where she was part of the original casts of Disney’s Aladdin and Something Rotten!

In 2017, Wallace scored a spot in the West End production of Dreamgirls playing Effie White as an alternate to Amber Riley. She later released her debut album Soul Holiday packed with uplifting show songs and sing-along pop classics.

Having decided to stay on in the UK, Wallace won the role of Becky in the critically acclaimed West End run of Waitress alongside Katharine McPhee in 2019. In addition, she was part of Disney’s big-screen summer blockbuster Aladdin starring Will Smith and unveiled the powerful single Fight Like A Woman.

Wallace has always been inspired by great gospel and R&B artists like Aretha Franklin and Ella Fitzgerald. During the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020, she recorded and independently released a special version of Tomorrow to help raise funds for those in the theatre industry who’ve been struggling. Her unique take on the classic song from Annie about hope and renewal attracted the attention of Decca Records. Wallace signed a deal with them and her second album, also titled Tomorrow, came out on 4 December 2020. To support it, she announced a six-date UK tour for September and October 2021.
