Halsey is originally from New Jersey, born Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, and first found her way into music by enrolling in a songwriting program while attending college. She began gigging and writing demos before being signed and releasing her first EP, Room 93, in 2014. The record won praise from critics and led her to support British indie band The Kooks on tour. She later went on to tour America with her American Youth US Tour in 2015 and performed with Imagine Dragons on their Smoke + Mirrors Tour. British singer Charli XCX, Canadian rapper PartyNextDoor and American singer Kehlani previously supported Halsey on her Hopeless Fountain Kingdom Tour in 2017 and 2018.

Since 2015, Halsey has amassed over 23 billion streams worldwide and sold more than nine million adjusted albums globally. She has played sold-out dates on five continents (including New York City’s Madison Square Garden) and been nominated for a Grammy. Her 2015 debut album, Badlands, was certified Platinum by the RIAA within one year of its release and Halsey claimed the No.1 spot on the Billboard 200 with 2017’s Platinum-certified hopeless fountain kingdom, which contained such hits as the 2x Platinum Now or Never and the 4x Platinum Bad at Love.

Halsey has featured on top singles with The Chainsmokers and their pop chart-topper hit single Closer, which reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. She has also collaborated the K-pop superstar boyband BTS, and their song Boy With Luv. She also sang with benny blanco and Khalid on their song Eastside, along with G-Eazy on their song Him & I.
