About

Some 15 years after his debut, Jamie T returns with his fifth album

Jamie T (real name Jamie Alexander Treays) was born in Wimbledon, South London, and absorbed the variety of musical styles he was exposed to growing up. Giving up on playing the guitar because it was too difficult to play while singing, Jamie T turned his hand to an electric bass before a friend eventually gifted him an acoustic version. Recording his own music at home, he released his first single 'Salvador' in 2004 before releasing his first EP Betty & the Selfish Sons. The single 'Back in the Game' was named Zane Lowe's Hottest Record in the World on BBC Radio 1 and received extensive airplay on commercial radio expanding his fanbase.

Jamie T released his first album Panic Prevention in 2007 which included the singles 'Sheila' and 'Calm Down Dearest' which reached No.9 in the UK singles charts.

Some two years later, he returned with the release of his single 'Sticks 'n' Stones' and a music video filmed nearly entirely in his hometown of Wimbledon. The single teased the release of his sophomore album Kings and Queens' which arrived later that same year and reached No.2 in the UK charts.

It would be five years before Jamie T released another album in Carry On the Grudge which dropped in 2014 including the singles 'Don't You Find' and 'Zombie'. The release was named the greatest music moment of 2014 by NME. His fourth album Trick followed in 2016 which saw Jamie T head back out on tour across the UK that same year.

In 2022, Jamie T headlined the John Peel stage at Glastonbury for the second time after the release of his fifth album The Theory of Whatever. He later announced a major UK tour with nine dates across the UK including a performance at London's Alexandra Palace.
