About Art On Ice

One of Europe's most spectacular ice shows comes to Sheffield on Saturday 16 February  - bringing with it leading figure skaters from around the world.  Tickets priced £25, £37.50 & £50 (may be subject to booking fee) are now on sale.

The critically acclaimed Art On Ice, described by the press as "the most important figure skating gala in the world", features a whole host of Olympic and World Champion stars - many of whom will be making their only UK appearance of the year.

The one-off showpiece event - which also features a dynamic light show and live music - follows hot on the heels of this year's success when thousands of skating fans packed the Hallam FM Arena to catch a glimpse of their ice heroes.

Launched in Europe in 1995, the breath-taking Art On Ice extravaganza combines the beauty, grace and skill of figure skating with renowned musical stars performing live. As the first show of its kind to combine live music with striking performances, its aim is to appeal not only to lovers of ice dance, but also those who may have never seen a live skating event before.

For the 2008 date, the audience can expect to be delighted by Evgeny Plushenko, known as the David Beckham of the ice. As three times world champion, five times European Champion and 2006 Olympic Gold winner, he is one of the world's most highly regarded athletes.

He will be joined on the ice by a star-studded line-up that will also feature World Champions Stéphane Lambiel, Irina Slutskaya, Denise Biellmann and Radka Kovarikova. Fans of UK favourites Sinead & John Kerr will be in for a treat as the brother and sister pairing, who have walked away with four British championships and are currently ranked sixth in the world, will be delighting the crowd.

And if that wasn't enough to whet the appetite, the programme is also set to include two pairs of Olympic Gold medallists - Russian skaters Elena Bereznaya and Anton Sikharulidze, and Tatiana Totmianina & Maxim Marinin.

The musical guest star on this year's show will be Iceland's No.1 emerging artist Gardar Thor Cortez, who at 32 breaks every stereotype in the classical music book.
