Steve Steinman and Lorraine Crosby perform the music of Meat Loaf
Stage producer and performer Steve Steinman made his public debut when appearing on the UK's popular impersonation competition Stars In Their Eyes in 1993, going on to become the show's most successful contestant. Appearing as Meat Loaf and wowing audiences both in the studio and at home, it kickstarted a career that would see Steinman build a rock and roll legacy rivalling that of his hero.
Establishing Vampire Rock Music (VRM), and working with some of the most prolific global rock stars, Steinman premiered The Meat Loaf Story in 2000. The first of his many successful theatre and arena shows, it celebrated the grandiose music by the American singer and actor, himself one of the best selling music artists of all time.
Consistently reimagining The Meat Loaf Story across almost twenty years, in 2018 Steinman teamed up with special guest star Lorraine Crosby – aka Mrs Loud, the co-vocalist on Meat Loaf's Grammy Award winning I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That). A celebrated vocalist in her own right, Crosby's solo live performances garnered famous fans – such as Bonnie Tyler – who have joined her on stage.
Productions of The Meat Loaf Story have boasted arena-worthy performances of his and Jim Steinman's biggest songs, including renditions of Anything For Love, Bat Out Of Hell, Paradise By The Dashboard Light, Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth, Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad, Dead Ringer For Love and many more.
Backed by a ten-piece live band, and a production described by Notts What's On as one that "would make some West End productions feel inadequate", The Meat Loaf Story has consistently been led by Steinman's world-famous stage presence and humour.
In August 2020, it was revealed that The Meat Loaf Story would be returning to Blackpool Opera House in October 2020, following social distancing guidelines.
