The Strictly Come Dancing stars unite for a UK tour
Both Anton Du Beke and Giovanni Pernice rose to fame as professional dancers on the hit BBC competition Strictly Come Dancing.
Du Beke joined the show upon its launch in 2004. From then, the ballroom and Latin dancer partnered with the likes of sporting coach Judy Murray and supermodel Jerry Hall, and first reached the final with newscaster Katie Derham in 2015. He repeated the feat with stage and screen actress Emma Barton four years later. It was however his comedic partnerships that secured him the hearts of the nation, not least reaching the quarter final with former MP Ann Widdicombe in 2010.
Born in Sicily, Giovanni Pernice joined Du Beke on Strictly Come Dancing in 2015, quickly making his mark by reaching the final with actress Georgia May Foote in his first series. In 2017, he repeated that success with presenter Debbie McGee, and again in 2018 with Steps member Faye Tozer. Pernice's professional achievements include claiming the top prize at the Italian Championships in 2012.
In 2020, Anton Du Beke and Giovanni Pernice announced that they would hit the road together across the UK. It was revealed that the Him & Me tour would be directed by Alan Burkitt, who had previously choreographed Strictly Come Dancing, So You Think You Can Dance? and the Fascinating Aida UK tour.
Speaking at a photoshoot ahead of the tour, Pernice said to Du Beke: "Anton, you are my idol. I have wanted to do a show with you for so long now and Iâm very, very happy that we can finally do it."
"Well, Iâm really excited about this," Du Beke responded. "Itâs going to be fabulous and I already feel younger just standing next to you Giovanni. I canât wait!â
Anton was warm & charming. Giovanni was amusing, a bit cheeky & lovely. The two of them have a natural rapport and play off each other like a classic double act (overtones of Morecambe & Wise) The dancing was fabulous as you'd expect. Will & the other young dancers were great, as were the live musicians.
Fantastic theatre and an amazing performance by these too gorgeous talented performers. Can't wait to see them again
Great show from all concerned!Brilliant dancing from all the cast in particular,Anton ,Giovanni and Lauren!also some great comedy interludes from Anton and Giovanni! Theatre staff also excellent and smooth running! Great night overall!
Another fantastic show. All the dancers, singers and orchestra were amazing. Anton and Giovanni have a mischievous spirit. They make it funny. A great mix of dancing songs and music that everyone knows. A thoroughly awesome evening out. Roll on the next one.
Excellent show probably one of the best I've ever seen they are just so funny and the quality of the dancing was spectacular, would love to see them again in Scunthorpe!!!
Anton was outshone by Giovanni who's stage presentation was excellent. Too much comedy and singing from Anton which lowered the tone of the show. However all dancing excellent but maybe time for Anton to hang up his dancing shoes and concentrate on judging.
Dancing, music and singers all fantastic. Anton and Giovanni great together all their discussions funny and entertaining Anton is hilarious. Brilliant feel good evening highly recommend
This was the most entertaining show, Anton & Giovanni are so good together and it was a treat to see Lauren Oakley too. Their themed dance routines were spectacular and their humour with one another was quite something, you can see they have a great admiration for each other. The whole show was wonderful, music, dance, humour and of course two very handsome and talented dancers. â¤ď¸
A show full of energy and fun. Anton & Giovanni bounced off each other very well and had me laughing out loud. There was great audience participation.The supporting dancers and musicians were very accomplished also. A family friendly show.
Very comfortable venue, loads of leg room. Comfy seats. Good view from seats. Anton and Giovani were absolutely brilliant along with their support dancers and their small but very talented band. Overall a truly wonderful night.
