About

Opera singer and musical theatre performer who has played many of classical music's biggest stages.

Born Alfred Giovanni Roncalli Boe in 1973, Aflie Boe is a renowned English tenor. Growing up in Lancashire, he discovered his passion for singing at a young age and began performing in local productions; his breakthrough came when he landed the role of Jean Valjean in the musical Les Misérables in London's West End in 1998.

His powerful and emotive voice earned him critical acclaim, earning various roles in musical theatre including performances in La Bohème, Kismet, Finding Neverland, and Carousel. Boe's remarkable vocal range, combined with his friendly stage presence, made him a sought-after talent, but beyond the stage he has also released several successful albums showcasing a versatility from classical to pop. His 2017 album Together with his friend and collaborator Michael Ball earnt them both Album of the Year and Best Group at the BRIT Awards the following year.

In 2019 Boe was awarded an OBE for his services to music and charity.

Boe released his stunning Top 10 album Open Arms - The Symphonic Songbook in October 2023. Following a celebrated run of sold-out dates across the UK earlier in the year, Boe announced he will head back out on a UK tour in summer 2024.

  • Alfie Boe was outstanding.

The show itself was fantastic he covered everything from Opera to Country and Western to Rock. The downside was the large number of the audience who paid good money for the seats then watched most of the show on their phone screens !!!!.Some people around us were checking their Facebook & e-mails all the way through, which was very distracting, they then stood up and started dancing in the seats blocking the view of people sat behind them. Some people at least had the manners to go into the aisles to dance We were very disappointed that nothing was done to stop them, most venues do not let you use phones, or cameras to record the shows.

  • Awesome night

What a wonderful show. Alfie Boe was spectacular. No fancy stage set up just a brilliant group of musicians and backing singers and the magical voice of the main man. His ability to sing a wide range of songs, his humour and his personality are the recipe for a perfect musical show. The venue, staff and the easy admission to seats was very good. So good night had by all. Thank you.

Absolutely blown away by Alfie Boe! Lucky enough to have front row at Stoke and enjoyed so much went to Aylesbury which was even better than Stoke… I didn't think he could better Stoke but he did! Enjoyed both of shows so much I managed to grab a last minute 2nd row ticket for the final night of the tour in Blackpool. Great mix of classical, musical theatre, country, Elvis, Queen… Not only does he have an incredible voice but he's also v funny as well. Can't wait for his next solo tour!

The evening was absolutely brilliant. Alfie Boe is a tremendous all round entertainer full of fun and energy. The music content was varied,a bit of classical in Italian, culminating in the audience participating changing to the English version One Cornetto. There was some popular country and western, a Queen medley and an Elvis medley. The band and backing singers were brilliant and full of power. At times like a spectacular rock concert. Overall an amazing 2 hours of top class entertainment.

  • A Satisfactory Performance

by RDI on 01/07/2024Embassy Theatre - SkegnessRating: 3 out of 5

The event was advertised as starting at 7pm; we found out by chance by one of the chaperones on the door that it was actually 7.30pm, why? The support act did not in my opinion, reflect my perception of the quality of performance we might expect from the main event; a bit disappointing. Alfie Boe appeared as more of a showman than a singing artist; maybe I (mistakenly?) imagined he would come over with more emphasis on the classical singer I believed he is/was? Maybe my error of judgement? On a positive note, his voice was excellent.
