About
Famous dancing brothers to hit the road together
With parents who run a dance academy, AJ and Curtis Pritchard have been tripping the light fantastic since they were kids, and as teens often battled against each other in competitions all around the world. Now as professional dancers, both are well-known and well-loved from their numerous television appearances.
In 2013, AJ auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent with his partner Chloe Hewitt, and they made it through to the semi-finals. He joined Strictly Come Dancing in 2016 and appeared on the show for four series, departing in early 2020. Paired with gymnast Claudia Fragapane, former Saturdays singer Mollie King, British Paralympic athlete Lauren Steadman and vlogger Saffron Barker, AJ got into the semi-finals three straight years. He embarked on his debut dance tour AJ Live in 2019, which was set to return in 2020 until the pandemic hit.
Curtis took part in three series of Dancing With The Stars, the Irish version of Strictly, beginning in 2016. He had been partnered with Dublin model Thalia Heffernan and magazine mogul Norah Casey. In early 2019, Curtis was a finalist on Love Island, finishing in fourth place and leaving the villa with Maura Higgins. Later that year he joined The Greatest Dancer to welcome hopeful contestants to the studio as they prepared for their big auditions.
Always supportive of each other, AJ and Curtis teamed up for several projects as well. They worked together in late 2019 on the first series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK to coach the final three drag queens with personalised dance routines.
In October 2020, the Pritchard brothers started the podcast AJ v Curtis, where they chat and bicker about a wide range of topics from family and relationships to showbiz and more. They also announced an autumn 2021 UK tour of AJ & Curtis’ Big Night Out, an action-packed variety show combining dancing and singing with games on stage.
“AJ and I have always been close, and we’ve wanted to go on tour for as long as we can remember,” said Curtis. “We have some unbelievable stories to tell, so that, coupled with lots of dancing, laughter, music and prizes – I think this will a night out to remember!”
