Ryan Adams first tasted musical success as part of the alternative groups The Patty Duke Syndrome and Whiskeytown. Following the bands' demise, he wasted no time in launching a solo career.
His debut solo album Heartbreaker received rave reviews from critics and a ringing endorsement from Elton John. His follow-up Gold moved away from his country influences and the single New York, New York was rotated heavily on radio following the September 11 attacks.
A prolific songwriter, Adams has continued to regularly release music, both as a solo artist and in collaboration with stars such as Emmylou Harris, Beth Orton, Evan Dando and Melissa Auf Der Maur.
Ryan Adams returns this spring with new dates in April, visiting London, Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Sheffield and Cambridge. The shows will give fans a taster of his upcoming album, Big Colors – the first of three planned releases this year.
