About Christopher Ellis
CHRISTOPHER ELLIS was born the youngest male progeny to "The Godfather of Jamaican Rocksteady", the late ALTON ELLIS. Talented in his own right, the soulful Lover's Rock, Roots Reggae, R&B crooner has been astounding audiences with his incredibly natural, smooth vocal stylings since the age of 11.
Christopher frequently performed with his legendary father on world tours, leaving lasting impressions on international audiences across the globe.
In 2008 Christopher painfully watched his father's passing. 24 hours later he went into a studio and recorded a tribute song to his father, the recording would later be released on the 2009 ‘Old School Young Blood' reggae dancehall compilation through the UK based Peckings Records.
In 2009 Christopher was signed by 6-times Grammy Award winning producer Stephen Marley alongside his brothers Damian and Julian Marley to the Ghetto Youth International record label. This signing resulted in Christopher's first hit single entitled, ‘End of Time', a moving, soul stirring track featuring vocal works by Stephen Marley and Jah Cure, inspired by Alton Ellis' rendition of ‘You Made Me So Happy'. Christopher's follow up single released in 2010 was a rendition of his father's remake of ‘Willow Tree'. A sweetly seductive lover's ballad showcases Christopher's versatile musicality. Further tracks released includes: English, Knocking on my door featuring Gappy Ranks and Why Can't We featuring Jah Cure.
Christopher has recently spent quality time working on his highly anticipated album helmed and produced by mega-producer brothers Stephen and Damian Marley which is due for an end of year release.
Christopher's new single entitled ‘Yard Style' is currently causing a storm in the UK and looks like another big song for 2012.
