Following the critically acclaimed UK tour of Qudiam , Cirque Du Soleil, is to return to the UK with an arena tour of its vibrant signature production SALTIMBANCO, created by Franco Dragone. This timeless Cirque opus hits the UK Arenas for the first time with a series of exclusive shows in Sheffield, Liverpool, Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Dublin, Nottingham and London. Tickets for the tour go on sale from Friday 11th December 2009.
Saltimbanco is Cirque du Soleil's longest running major touring show which has toured the world since 1992 to wide-spread acclaim and has enjoyed sell-out success across the world in Europe, North and South America, Australia, Japan, and New Zealand performing to over 11 million fans.
In the UK, The Times hailed the show "Gracefully athletic theatre" , America's Variety Magazine added "Human exuberance and physicality, the performers enthrall with one act after another"", whilst the New York Times was equal in its praise stating "Myth meets magic...... The arena is situated in central Manchester adjacent to Victoria station on the A56, three miles from junction 17 of the M62.
Parking:
The official NCP on-site multi-storey car park has a capacity of 1,000. In addition, approximately 7,000 recognised NCP spaces within 10 minutes walk serve the Manchester Evening News Arena.
Public Transportation:
Buses: Many buses serve Cannon Street and Victoria stations and many more stop within easy walking distance in the city centre. If you are staying out late, night bus services on Friday and Saturday nights run directly past the Manchester Evening News Arena.
Rail: Victoria Station is directly underneath the Manchester Evening News Arena and is served by regional railways. Piccadilly Station (Intercity) is located a mile from the arena and is served by taxis or Metro Link to Victoria.
Trams: Manchesters excellent Metrolink system passes right by the Manchester Evening News Arena, stopping at Victoria. Services run from Bury, Altrincham and Manchester Piccadilly rail station. Metrolink enquiries 0161 205 2000.
