Dirty Dancing Ticketing Tips
Updated May 2008
1. Dirty Dancing is sold out for months - how do I get tickets?
Whilst it's true that Dirty Dancing has sold a lot of tickets there are still seats left at over the next few months. From May onwards there is limited availability for Monday - Thursday performances. Towards the end of May and into June you will find a few more seats available. If you want a Saturday performance you will need to start looking at performances from November 2008 onwards.
Hot tip!
You can often buy tickets with a slightly restricted view for performances as soon as next week. These seats can offer great value, as in most cases, only a very small part of the stage is obscured. These seats are often the last seats to be sold, and can be available to buy on the day or week of the performance. Check for these online, or by calling or visiting the theatre. It is best to have a choice of dates in mind when enquiring. STOP PRESS 13 May and 14 May have some great seats just released for sale!
2. But I want top price tickets - when can I buy these?
If you are looking to buy a top price ticket availability is limited. There are a few top price tickets available on some midweek performances toward the end of May 2008 but for wider midweek availability you will need to be booking for June 2008 onwards. You should have no problems booking top price tickets for midweek performances from July 2008. Saturday matinees start to become available from November 2008. Saturday evenings have almost sold out of top price tickets until April 2009 onwards.
Hot tip!
Because there are no group rates valid during popular school holidays (half terms, Christmas and Easter etc) some of the performances during these times currently have the best availability. Why not try a Friday performance - there are two shows on a Friday. It is always worth checking out these performances - you never know you may be lucky. Also - don't forget to check on the day of the performance for day seats or returns. But be quick - these tickets won't be available for long. STOP PRESS - good Thursday evening seats available from May 2008, but hurry - they are selling quickly!
3. I can't wait until then - surely there must be some way of getting tickets earlier?
Whilst there are no guarantees it is always worth ringing up, checking online or visiting the theatre on the day of the performance - sometimes spare tickets are returned or released for sale on the day of the performance from 12pm.
Hot tip!
Sometimes ticketmaster may still have seats that they haven't sold. Check out the list of reputable ticket agents at www.s-t-a-r.org.uk

Hot tip!
Some of the best value seats are in the upper/grand circle (second balcony) where you get fantastic clear views of the stage without having to pay top price.
