Expect an exciting night of music, special guests and surprises as Mother Glasgow opens her doors to the Commonwealth.

Experience the once-in-a-lifetime buzz of the Commonwealth Games coming to Glasgow at our biggest Festival 2014 Opening Ceremony party. Enjoy a dazzling line up of Scottish musicians including Lulu, Eddi Reader, James Grant, Rab Noakes, Sarah Hayes (Admiral Fallow), Roddy Hart & the Lonesome Fire, Emma Pollock and RM Hubbert as they come together with friends to celebrate this momentous occasion. Watch the spectacular Opening Ceremony live on giant screens whilst indulging in refreshments from a delicious Scottish Food Village and bar area.

On Opening Ceremony night UNICEF will bring the Commonwealth together for children. Be part of this special event at Glasgow Green Live Zone and for every ticket you buy we will donate £1 to UNICEF in support of its work for children.

with Belle and Sebastian

Scotland's indie pop kings open Festival 2014 at Kelvingrove Bandstand. Join us for this unique experience, before watching the Opening Ceremony in a very special venue. Belle and Sebastian's Stuart Murdoch says: "The bandstand in Kelvingrove Park is like a dream within a dream. We are VERY pleased to be playing there."

Glasgow Green Closing Ceremony Celebration

Join us to relive some of the highlights of Festival 2014 and the XX Commonwealth Games in an enormous outdoor celebration. Treacherous Orchestra lead a rousing party, along with surprises and special guests, and your last chance to experience Glasgow Green Live Zone, before the final spectacular Closing Ceremony is screened.

Kelvingrove Bandstand Closing Ceremony Celebration

Sun 3 August

£10 adult, £5 concession, family tickets from £20

Our very special Closing Ceremony programme opens with a new commission from Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra, performing with Tam Dean Burn and multi-instrumentalist Corey Mwamba.

The west end's Sirens of Titan choir then take centre stage before the stunning McOpera Ensemble, formed by musicians from the Orchestra of Scottish Opera, lead us into the screening of the official Closing Ceremony with works by Edward Elgar and Frank Bridge.

A truly unforgettable finale to Festival 2014 at the Kelvingrove Bandstand.
