Creamfields has landed and delivered a finely-tuned, perfectly formed line-up that ticks every box if you love dance music! Following Cream HQ's announcement this week as being the only festival to reduce their ticket price this year, they have delivered an all star line up that includes Basement Jaxx, Tiësto, Paul Van Dyk, Dizzee Rascal, 2manyDJs (live) and Mylo (live), all of whom will be heading up north to one of the UK's most idyllic spots for August bank holiday weekend.
The world's biggest dance floor returns with its winning formula of 8 arenas packed full of the best that dance music has to offer. Making his debut on the Main Stage is demi-god Tiesto. Tiësto is a DJ and producer legend that is deserving of his stature, as well as showcasing new music for this very special performance, this will also be one of only two events he graces us with in England this year. Fellow Main Stage headliners are the indomitable Basement Jaxx. With jaw-dropping stage shows, chaotic carnival presence and a back catalogue of worldwide smash hits Basement Jaxx drive their electronica, house party wagon right into the heart of Cheshire, and are geared up to eclipse their roof raising performance back in 2005.
Other additions to the line up include Berlin-born maestro Paul Van Dyk, one of the best DJs and producers on the planet who really needs no introduction, Creamfields is also the only UK festival to have Paul van Dyk and Tiёsto perform on the same bill. Next up is hip hop extraordinaire Dizzee Rascal who is as well known for his irrepressible style as he is for his headline grabbing performances. His genre bending talent has made waves the world over, fusing grime, hip hop, ragga, garage and even indie.
Another act taking control of the Main Stage are the mighty 2manyDJs live, this cutting-edge Belgian trio are at the top of their game, their first ever UK tour includes two sell-out shows at Brixton Academy, and establishes their position as one of the worlds most in demand electronic outfits. We welcome Calvin Harris to this year's show, who performs live on the Main Stage. The self-proclaimed re-inventor of disco is one of the UK's biggest acts, his current smash ‘I'm Not Alone' is being hammered across the airwaves and tipped for No.1 success. After a three-year hiatus, we see the return of Mylo live, this will be a festival exclusive; Mylo will be showcasing new material from his forthcoming album.
This years DJ line-up reads like a who's who from the dance music fraternity, and includes the likes of Erick Morillo, John Digweed, Sasha, Ferry Corsten, Pete Tong Erol Alkan and Timo Maas.
As ever Creamfields will be spread over a host of the finest arenas, and we welcome clubbing bible Mixmag back to the ‘fields after a four-year hiatus bringing with them the Mixmag Terrace, as well as an all-star line-up featuring the likes of indie flag-flying trio, Friendly Fires, they'll also be asking their up-front DJ mates to play the kind of alternative sets you would only normally hear them play in their bedrooms or house parties, but this time; everyone's invited!
Creamfields 2009 is an explosive end to the summer, with no stone left unturned with the line-up, and ridiculously good value for money, dance festivals don't get much better than this! It is what August bank holidays are for.
