Travel by road: There are good A road links to the Westin Turnberry Resort and motorists travelling to The Senior British Open are advised to use the designated routes which are clearly signed by the AA.

Blair Wyllie, road safety office for South Ayrshire Council and key member of the A77 Safety Group has said:

"We would urge people driving to and from the event, to be patient and considerate, as the roads will be busier at this time of year. Road users should allow plenty of time for journeys, especially as the event coincides with the Glasgow Fair."

"The A77 Safety Group is committed to reducing the number of fatalities and serious accidents along the full length of the A77."
