The Marriott London Sevens, 11 - 12 May 2013. Jump into spring with the hottest rugby action in 2013. Head down to Twickenham and roar your support.
Join us on safari at the Marriott London Sevens this summer for a weekend of roaring action. With the HSBC Sevens World Series now in full flow and some surprising results already, London promises to be full of drama, action and excitement as the series builds to a spectacular conclusion. England coming off the back of a fantastic victory in Wellington will be out to show the home crowd what they’re made of.
After the hugely successful London games, Rugby Sevens becomes part of the Olympic family and the road to Rio has already started. Last year’s 70s disco theme was a glorious weekend stuffed full of the hottest rugby action, plus disco moves, wig waving and flying flares. With a record breaking crowd of 103,000 passing through the turnstiles, surpassing the records set at the 2011 event, 2013 promises to be bigger, better and louder.
The carnival atmosphere generated by the fans in the stands is unrivalled in the Twickenham calendar, with fancy dress galore, exclusive competitions and unique entertainment. Check out the entertainment pages on RFU.com/londonsevens in the coming weeks as the plans for the weekend are unveiled and see what you can expect from a day of fast and furious action, on and off the pitch.
The London tournament, pits the finest national sevens sides against each other, in the ninth and final round of the HSBC Sevens World Series. Each competition earns the top performing nation points, culminating in London with the top scoring team across the series crowned World Series champions.
