Directions

Reduce congestion; please travel by public transport where possible.

By road: Traffic from the east using the M4, please exit at Junction 11 and follow Festival signs.
Traffic from the west using the M4, please exit at Junction 12 and follow Festival signs. On leaving the site M4 traffic should take A33 to junction 11 of M4.

Parking

All festival car park passes must be booked in advance and passes are strictly limited. Car parking will be in nearby fields and a shuttle service will run between the Green and White car parks and the festival site. Only cars arriving at the car parks with an official car-parking pass will be allowed to park in the official festival car parks.

We are assigning ticket holders the best car park for their journey and are thereby working to cut traffic going through Reading town centre, Caversham, and down Richfield Avenue to the event itself.

- any vehicles coming from the East/London/M1/M25 etc should go to Green car park
- any vehicles coming from North West/Birmingham should go to White car park
- All campervans and caravans will go to white (not red anymore)
- all day ticket holders will go to Green car park

Follow the colour-coded signs to your car park.

Campervans:
Anyone wanting to bring their campervan to the Festival must pre-register. Please visit www.readingfestival.com for details.

Public Transportation
Reduce congestion; travel by public transport.

Rail:
Reading station is 40 minutes by train from Paddington or 80 minutes by train from Waterloo. Main station is approximately 15 minutes walk from the site. National Rail enquiries 08457 48 49 50 or visit their website at www.thetrainline.com

Tilehurst station is approximately 25 minutes walk from the site. Thames Trains run from Tilehurst to Oxford, Slough and London Paddington with stops or connections to many other destinations. For bookings call Thames Trains on 08457 300 700 or visit their website at www.thamestrains.co.uk

Pick Up/Drop Off and Coaches:
The pick up and drop off point is at the Rivermead Leisure Centre. This will be signposted by festival signs.

Coach journeys other than those booked as part of the ticket/coach packages can be booked at www.nationalexpress.com, or by calling 08705 80 80 80 (£1.00 booking fee)

Box Office Hours

There will be no on site box office for the Reading Festival.
There will only be a temporary collection point set up at The Hexagon. please read Will Call information below.

Box Office Collection Accepted

There will be a collection point at The Reading Hexagon, Queens Walk, Reading RG1 7QF from the Wed before the event only. This will only be staffed from Wed to Sun between the hours of 8am and 8pm. No tickets will be available for collection after these times. The normal staff at The Hexagon Box office will have no record of your booking and will be unable to deal with any queries, so please only collect between the specific hours above.
Please collect all of your tickets before travelling to the festival site. No tickets will be available to collect at the festival, so you will be redirected to the collection point at The Hexagon.
IMPORTANT - Tickets will only be issued to the card holder, on production of the card used to place the order. Please bring with you the reference number of the booking and some photo ID.

Accessible Seating

Open air location with disabled access. Wheelchair viewing facilities. Disabled toilets on-site. Registered disabled persons must be accompanied by a carer.

General Rules

Terms and Conditions

1. These Terms incorporate, and should be read together with, any Vendor’s and/or Agent’s terms, conditions and regulations, which you can obtain from the point of purchase from the Official Agent
2. No refunds other than on cancellation, substantial alteration or by special exception determined by the promoter (as in point 7). Refunds should be obtained from the point of purchase no later than three months from the last day of the event. A minimum of the face value of the ticket will be refunded. Refunds of booking fees per ticket are subject to the Terms and Conditions of the point of sale.
3. Artists and billed attractions may be subject to change.
4. No unaccompanied under 16’s are allowed on site. Under 16’s must be accompanied by over 18’s.
5. Children under 13 (12 years old and under) are free but must be accompanied by a paying adult.
6. No re-admission without valid accreditation. Tickets are non-transferable.
7. In order to facilitate the security, safety and comfort of all guests the Promoter reserves the right to evict or refuse admission and refund the ticket value (see point 2).
8. Festival Republic and its associated Promoters are unable to accept liability for personal damages, losses or injuries sustained at this event - including damage and losses to property and motor vehicles - other than caused as a result of our negligence.
9. The Promoter will not issue duplicate tickets for lost or stolen tickets.
10. Tickets are only valid when purchased from official agents of Festival Republic. Tickets purchased from unauthorised sources will be rendered invalid and refused admission.
11. Entry will only be permitted on production of valid tickets. Tickets are only valid when presented in full. Tickets without stubs, defaced or otherwise incomplete will not be accepted for admission (please refer to point of purchase prior to the event in the case of accidental damage).
12. Strictly no trading allowed within the venue without the Promoter’s consent.
13. As a condition of sale, ticket holders consent to being photographed, filmed or sound recorded for TV, Video, DVD, Webcast or other public broadcast or any media at any time throughout the world, as part of the audience or by security CCTV.
14. Tickets cannot be used as part of any marketing, media or sales promotion, whether commercial or non commercial, without the prior written consent of Festival Republic.
15. All wristbands remain the property of Festival Republic until Noon the day after the last day of the event.


Information & Notification – All Events
Disabled Facilities are available – please call 020 7009 3000 for further information.

1. Official merchandise will be available on site. Please do not buy from unlawful street traders.
2. Please use the litter bins and recycling points provided on site. Please do not drop litter on the way to and from the venue.
3. No unauthorised buses, coaches or trucks will be allowed on site.
4. The following items may not be brought in to the venue: Illegal Substances, Nitrous Oxide, Portable Laser Equipment and Pens, Unauthorised Professional Film or Video Equipment, Audio Recorders, Megaphones, Air Horns, Spray Cans, Fireworks and Flares. All Items will be confiscated.
5. You may be body and/or bag searched at the entrance. Any item(s), which may reasonably be considered for use as a weapon, or which may cause danger or disruption to any other persons at the event, will be confiscated. Flags are not permitted in the Arena.
6. Persons suspected of carrying items that may be used in an offensive or dangerous manner, or carrying out illegal activities within the arena or other parts of the site may be searched.
7. Excessive amounts of food, cigarettes and alcohol may be refused entry to the site. Please only bring enough for personal consumption.
8. Only fitted campervan gas canisters/cylinders are permitted. No other camping gas canisters (of any size or description) are permitted on site. No aerosols over 250ml will be allowed on site.
9. The following items may not be brought in to the arena: Alcohol, Drinks Bottles or Cans.
10. Sealed water bottles 500ml and under and food for personal consumption may be brought in to the arena.
11. Anyone resisting confiscation of disallowed items or disregarding these conditions will face eviction.
12. No animals other than guide dogs are permitted on site.
13. Fires are not permitted in the arena. The burning of plastics are not permitted anywhere on site. Throwing gas, aerosol or similar canisters or containers on to fires is extremely dangerous and will lead to eviction from site.
14. To protect your own safety and those of other guests, please act responsibly.
15. Smoking is not permitted in enclosed public spaces or buildings including Arena big tops.

IMPORTANT - Do not bring drugs to the Reading Festival. You may be rejected from the event at the gates and handed to the police if found in possession.

Children Rules

Under 13 (12 and under) are admitted free, but MUST be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult. Please note that there is no separate childrens area within the campsite. No unaccompanied under 16’s are allowed on site. Under 16’s must be accompanied by over 18’s.

Miscellaneous

Wristbands:
Customers must exchange their ticket for a wristband as soon as possible after arriving on site.
Re-admittance to the site is possible once they have been wristbanded.

Entrance to the arena is only possible with a valid wristband, tickets will not be allowed through at this point. Wristbands removed from wrist or tampered with will be rendered invalid and will not be replaced.

Keep Safe At Reading Festival:

Crime:
Avoid it! Keep your money, credit cards and belongings to a minimum and store safely at the left luggage point onsite. Be vigilant. Keep an eye on your things. Get to know your campsite neighbours and keep an eye out for each other. Report any crime to a steward/ security guard or to the Public Police Point

Camping Gas:
Please be careful when using camping gas. It can be very dangerous if misused. Please follow the guidelines below when using camping gas:
· NEVER light a camping gas stove in your tent or try to change the gas cylinder in your tent.
· ALWAYS store spare gas cylinders outside your tent.
· NEVER use a flame to search for a leak
· NEVER hold gas cylinders upside down when changing
· "EMPTY" canisters may not be completely empty. When you've removed it from your stove store it upright outside your tent for a while to allow any gas that may be in it to evaporate before bringing it to the gas canister exchange off Piccadilly Circus where it will be disposed of safely. A system will be in place to swap empty gas canisters for a can of beer.
· NEVER put a camping gas cylinder on a fire or try to heat it artificially. This can prove fatal. Anyone seen doing so will be evicted from site.
· CHECK the colour of the flame. If it's blue then that's fine. If orange or yellow or creating sooty stains on your stove don't use it.
· NEVER attempt to re-fill a gas canister
· If you SMELL GAS or think you have a leak, turn your stove off if possible. Leave the area and tell your friends and neighbours to leave the area too. Go to your nearest fire tower or find your nearest steward and make them aware.
· REMEMBER, the onsite fire team are there to help you. If you have any questions ask a steward who can then contact the fire team for you.

Camp Fires
There is clean firewood for sale on site. Be careful not to light camp fires close to others or close to tents as this can be very dangerous. Get to know where your closest fire point is and where your nearest steward is located when you get to site. If you see a fire that concerns you, let the nearest steward know.

Emergencies
In an Emergency please contact the nearest member of security or steward for help.
There is an onsite fire fighting team who are fully equipped to deal with any fires. There are fire observation towers located around the campsites. There are fire extinguishers located throughout the site and many of the stewards and security staff have been trained in fire safety in addition to the onsite fire fighting team.
There are medics onsite who are fully equipped to deal with all situations. The main medical centre is based next to Piccadilly Circus. There is also a first aid point in the green campsite by Henry’s Gate. The medics also have roving patrols and provide an Accident and Emergency facility with full resuscitation, GP facilities and surgeries and psychiatric treatment.

There is an onsite Police Station in Piccadilly Circus staffed by Thames Valley Police throughout the event.

Welfare
The Welfare Tent is situated in the Piccadilly Circus area and is open 24 hours from noon on Thursday to noon on Monday and offers general welfare, assistance and advice, a drugs advisory service, a needle exchange, counselling, a messages service and they will help distressed / missing people. The Welfare Tent also offers a recovery area for patients from medical and emergency shelter in a Crash tent with camper mats and sleeping bags.

Left Luggage
The left luggage facility is open 24 hours from noon on Thursday to noon on Monday and is located close to the Arena Entrance. This is also the point where any Lost Property found during the festival is sent.
The address for queries for lost property post event will be available from the Left Luggage Tent onsite and will be posted on the website after the event.

Information Tent
The Information Tent is open from noon on Thursday to 9am Monday morning and is located close to Piccadilly Circus, off road G4. The Information Tent handles a large variety of queries from festival goers, runs a message board and has details of all local transport services etc. The latest information on the running order is available at the Information Tent.

Lost Children / People
Lost children are looked after by the Welfare team and all relevant agencies are contacted.
Lost people should go to the Welfare tent.

Samaritans
The Samaritans operate confidentially providing an ear and support for the distressed Festivalgoers. They are available 24 hours per day during the event from noon on Thursday to noon on Monday and are situated in the Market Area outside the arena. They offer a confidential, non judgmental, listening service for anyone passing through a crisis who needs to talk. They are particularly there for people who may be considering taking their own life.

Campsite Assistance Teams
This is a new service for Reading this year and there will be a large number of CAT volunteers providing an information service for ticket holders in the campsites. The CATs are on duty 24 hours and are there to help you - please use them for general information and assistance and to report back on any litter and sanitation issues. Onsite Facilities

Bars
There are several bars in the arena and one in the Village area, between Arena Entrance and Reapers Bridge. They are all cash only.

The Carling Carry Out bar is based at the Main Pedestrian Entrance to site from Richfield Ave and at Reaper Bridge.

Bar staff will ask for proof of age ID whenever the customer appears to be under 18. The proof of age will need to be evidenced by a Portman Proof of Age Card, Citizen Card, valid UK card or by a full or provisional photo card driving licence issued by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority or by a passport. If there is any doubt as to the age of the customer they will be refused service. The onus is on the individual to demonstrate unequivocally that they are 18 years old or over and if the individual cannot do so they will not be served.

Food Stalls
There are food stalls throughout the site selling a variety of food, from burgers to baguettes, noodles to milkshake. There will be a new 24 hour café in the Orange campsite and a new wood stall there too.

Toilets And Showers
There are toilet blocks in the arena and throughout the campsites.
There are free showers based at the end of the Outside Market Area, close to Cow Lane, off road G4.

Litter
Please help keep the Reading Festival tidy by cleaning up after yourself, using the Litter Exchange Points and Litter Drop Points. Please don’t drop rubbish; there are plenty of bins onsite
Banks And Cashpoints
There are ATM machines available onsite. Situated in the Market, off road G4. There is a surcharge of £2.00 per transaction. They are open 24 hours.
The nearest cash point apart from those onsite is at the Snax 24 Garage at the end of Richfield Avenue.
The Information Tent has details of all the telephone numbers for reporting lost cards.

Programmes
Programmes are available from programme sellers situated throughout the site.

Merchandise
There are three official merchandise tents, two in the arena stage left and stage right and one in the Village Area between Arena Entrance and Reapers Bridge.
