Based on the 1910 novel “Le Fantome de l’Opéra”, The Phantom of the Opera was adapted into a musical sensation by Andrew Lloyd Webber and is currently showing at Her Majesty’s Theatre, London. The musical tells the story of a mysterious phantom, who ashamed by his physical appearance and feared by all, hides beneath the Paris Opera House, terrorising the cast and crew. It is from here that he falls in love with the beautiful Christine, a young singer who he has been teaching to sing disguised as the Angel of Music. When Christine’s heart is captured by her childhood sweetheart Raoul, the Phantom is pushed to his very limits to keep Christine under his spell.
