nullWorld number 17 Daniela Hantuchova is set to return to the AEGON Classic in Birmingham next month, as she bids to go one better than last year and lift the coveted title.
The Slovak ace has been confirmed in the main draw for the tournament at the Edgbaston Priory Club, which will take place from 11-17 June, and will be looking to improve on her performance in 2011 when she was beaten in the final by Germany's Sabine Lisicki.
Lisicki, the world No.13, will be the top seed in the draw, followed by Hantuchova as the number two seed. They will be joined by a host of other top-ranked players, including world No.20 Roberta Vinci from Italy, and Greece's former world No.14 Eleni Daniilidou.
British hopes will lie with Elena Baltacha, Anne Keothavong, Heather Watson and Laura Robson who have already committed to the week-long event.
Tournament director Patrick Hughesman said: "There is a world class field for this year's AEGON Classic and tennis fans in Birmingham are in for an action-packed week.
"I'm delighted that there will be a number of top-ranked British players in action and it will be interesting to see them up against some of the best players on the women's tour."
